This lovely urn is a one-of-a-kind creation by Skagit Valley artist Patsy Thola Chamberlain (1936 – 2015).
The most striking feature of this beautifully detailed box/urn is the unique two-sided butterfly handle on the lid. The exterior is a bright lime-green with a leaf and vine design on the top and sides. The interior is a light warm rose red color with a heart detail on the inside bottom.
Patsy was extraordinary when it came to the color of her glazes, and this piece is no exception. The color and design of this urn elicit thoughts of warm summer days. Perhaps this piece will find its way into a home where it will remind those present of a cat or dog who loved being in the outdoors, lying in the sun, and chasing flying things.
Appropriate as a keepsake urn for any pet, or as the primary urn for a small pet (under 10 pounds).
Special note from Bobbie Ruth Langley, President of Life Cycle Pet Cremation:
“Even though I knew Patsy was suffering from advanced emphysema, I believed that she would live a long life and continue to create these beautiful pieces. It is my hope that each of her pet urns will find its way into a special home to be cherished for a long, long time — in memory of a beloved pet, but also in appreciation of the wonder-inducing beauty of Patsy’s artistry.”
Numbered and signed by the artist.
Dimensions: 2.625″ square base. With lid this piece is 3.125″ tall.
